Feel Factor: Exploring Socio-Emotional Play in Early Childhood
Feel Factor is an exploratory research and interaction design project investigating how embodied and multisensory play can support socio-emotional development in early childhood.
Through qualitative research with children aged 2–4 and their caregivers, the project examines how emotions like attachment, consent, and boundaries are expressed and negotiated through tactile and sensory interactions.
The outcome includes a new qualitative research method — Observed Cultural Probes — along with a series of wearable play prototypes designed to foster safe and meaningful connections between children and caregivers.
